"Toys for Tots” is a charity run by United States Marine Corps Reserve that distributes toys to needy children during the holiday season. “Toys for Tots” was founded by reservist Major Bill Hendricks and has been collecting and distributing toys to children since 1947. In 1995 The Secretary of Defense made Toys for Tots an official mission of the Marine Corps Reserve. As of 2009 the United States Marine Corps Reserve has collected and distributed more than five hundred million toys. This year, Toys for Tots is celebrating their 100th year in providing millions of children with presents during this holiday season.
